When I first said Black Lives MatterIt was 2012 and we had a Black kid deadHolding candy and broken tea/lemonadeKilled by a neighbor who didn’t identify himselfAnd what we meant thenAnd what many still meanIs that life matters and is validHas value and should be fought forLife threats should be challenged

And do you know for a momentA movement was birthed thatsaw every kid as the sameAnd in some cities BLM still operates that wayBut nationally and globally, they stay in MalibuThey rock warfare and possibly some RICObut ain’t no one lookingParticularly at how protest tactics now beingUsed for smash and grabsAs if Black people didn’t still shop at Macys

Refund the police and you know bring it backTo where there are even more policeAnd now that we had some conversationsLet’s go ahead and have many moreBecause we don’t need constant attacksBy racist and troubled 12 year olds to driveSo much of people’s hatred and anxietyPeople be scared and they should beBut we gonna prayand raise up heaven here on earthWe will fight for every kid to live
